I really like this piece- I find it eye catching, especially with the red which I think is what you intended. I also like the grey tones with it. This makes the red stand out even more.
I also really appreciate the way these umbrellas have been set out, its almost as though there are invisible people walking down the street or that these umbrellas are trying to escape.
The place which the shot was taken- beautiful, however, there are a few things I want to point out about your location.
Its dark in that alley way, I got that, so maybe the contrast could have been ramped up a bit. Just to give it a little more texture. I like how it goes from dark to light, working up, but having that contrast would just make it pop.
Also, those, are they power lines? Yeah, not really a good look, I must say. They kind of spoil what would otherwise be a very original picture.
Overall, I like the idea. I find it fresh and slightly rustic. It reminds me a little of the music, 'Singing in the Rain'. Don't ask me why, I'm yet to figure that out.
I hope this helps. If not feel free to tell me I'm completely insane but otherwise its straight into my favourites. Good job!
